MAYRA YACHTS
Superyacht of the Week: Mayra Yachts’ 50m Euphoria
Euphoria was launched in the heat of the summer of 2016 as Turkish yacht builder, Mayra Yachts' first completed superyacht. Headed by the Prince Group, the shipyard was cutting no corners with their flagship model that is to put them firmly on the superyacht map, and drafted designer Ken Freivokh for the design of what became known as the Prince 50 project. Named Euphoria, her curvaceous exterior is but the tip of the elaborate and trendy design that was inspired by the growing possibilities offered by the advancements in glass technology. A sensory delight awaits!
Perhaps it is the lack of straight lines visible in the exterior profile or the large, sweeping curve descending towards the main deck that gives Euphoria a sense of excitement and dynamism often missing in yachts of this size. Its impressive volume, slightly exceeding 500 GT, is clearly evident in its high freeboard and generous width, creating distinctive exterior lines. From any angle, you encounter various design elements that captivate your eye and make you wonder for more.
Bringing these curves and accentuating lines to life in steel and aluminum is no easy task. Mayra Yachts had to rely on the skills of every artisan in its workforce to create and masterfully craft not just a seafaring vessel but a floating piece of art. After over three years of dedicated effort, Mayra Yachts now possesses a new brand ambassador that will turn heads wherever it sails.
The onboard experience begins on the sun deck, where guests can enjoy a pre-breakfast workout in a private gym cleverly concealed within the curvaceous mast structure. The remainder of the deck is dedicated to sunbathing and cooling off in the forward jacuzzi in the afternoon.
The aft main deck was designed to host large groups and includes a barbecue, a full-service area for the crew, and a private bar housed beneath intricately designed deck ceiling panels. Mooring stations and technical areas for this section are concealed under covers integrated into the bulwarks, making this space entirely guest-friendly.
Beneath the main deck lies Euphoria's tender garage, housing a luxurious 7.4-meter Pascoe guest tender — impressive for a yacht of this size. The technical area on the forward deck accommodates a smaller crew tender and two jet skis, doubling the fun for watersport enthusiasts.
Inside, Ken Freivokh Design experimented with a retro style made possible by the abundance of natural light in the interior and the space-enhancing use of LED lighting, ensuring the spaces never feel cramped. Robust materials like metal and glass are combined with softer carpets and leather to create a visual and tactile experience.
The main salon transforms into a family cinema with rotating sofas for watching the giant LCD television.
A corridor on the starboard side leads to the master suite. Upon entering the main office, the scale of the glass elements used throughout the yacht becomes apparent. Custom glass panels curve with the hull, drawing in light that reflects off the lacquered surfaces enveloping the suite.
Two dramatic decorative arches flanking the main bed connect the bedroom to the en-suite bathroom. A central glass bathtub, accompanied by two large sinks set on polished grey Empredor marble and black granite floors, offers an impressive visual.
The starboard atrium aligns with a single glass-like line visible from the outside. From the main deck, this luminous staircase connects the wheelhouse to the lower guest cabins.
These cabins are completed in the same minimalist style as the upper-deck interiors. Stainless steel accents capture light, creating a unique ambiance depending on the time of day.
The main deck galley is a sight to behold. Located along the yacht's centerline, the galley not only enhances comfort at sea but also offers guests the option to enjoy scenes of the ocean or observe activities in the galley through a large viewing window.
In terms of technical capabilities, Euphoria's naval architecture was developed by Naval Yachts. Equipped with twin CAT C32 engines, it can reach a maximum speed of 16 knots and offers an impressive cruising range of 4,500 nautical miles.
